Christmas in July – Carols of Christmas Blog Hop

Carols of Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to the Christmas in July blog hop! It might not feel like Christmas in this back-to-school time of year, but it we are celebrating Christmas in July in anticipation of the new Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog coming out soon. I got a sneak peek on Friday and was blown away with the variety of holiday stamps, gorgeous papers and amazing embellishments that will take us from Halloween to Valentine’s Day! I don’t know about you but it’s my favorite time of the year!

If you have been following along, you know you came from Annette Sullivan‘s blog. Wasn’t her project awesome? Such talent! For mine, I played with the “Deck the Halls” sentiment in the Carols of Christmas stamp set and decided to actually embellish my card as if I actually was decorating for Christmas. So my sentiment became a picture hanging on the wall with a garland and some bling! I used the Card Front Builder Thinlit Dies to cut through the vellum which I placed over the patterned paper. To embellish, I wrapped some gold mini sequin trim around the adorable boxwood wreath embellishments and attached with a glue dot. I added ribbon to make it look like it was hanging from a wall and attached a Gold Faceted dot. I hope you like it. All the details for this project are listed below.

The next step on the hop is Rachel Yurkanin. If you get lost or have a glitch, you can always visit the stops by clicking below.

What’s In A Name?

The Oh So Eclectic Bundle Card is Perfectly Named!

The Oh So Eclectic bundle is aptly named. This bundle features the Oh So Eclectic 16 piece stamp set with a wide variety of images from flowers to textures to sayings. The Eclectic Layers Framelits Dies features 13 dies that allow you to create die-cut pieces in record time with just a few turns of the Big Shot handle. The images in the Framelits include the leaves and the pattern cut out of the Whisper White cardstock. The Framelits also include flowers, jewels and other foliage that perfectly match the images in the Oh So Eclectic stamp set, hence the Eclectic reference in the name. It doesn’t have one particular “look” or vibe to the bundle, as many often do, but it is a combination of nature, objects and patterns that somehow all work well together. This is a very simple card to put together but it is very striking and I hope you like it as much as I do!

Here is the color palette for this project:
