What’s In A Name?

The Oh So Eclectic Bundle Card is Perfectly Named!

The Oh So Eclectic bundle is aptly named. This bundle features the Oh So Eclectic 16 piece stamp set with a wide variety of images from flowers to textures to sayings. The Eclectic Layers Framelits Dies features 13 dies that allow you to create die-cut pieces in record time with just a few turns of the Big Shot handle. The images in the Framelits include the leaves and the pattern cut out of the Whisper White cardstock. The Framelits also include flowers, jewels and other foliage that perfectly match the images in the Oh So Eclectic stamp set, hence the Eclectic reference in the name. It doesn’t have one particular “look” or vibe to the bundle, as many often do, but it is a combination of nature, objects and patterns that somehow all work well together. This is a very simple card to put together but it is very striking and I hope you like it as much as I do!

Here is the color palette for this project:

Video: At Home With You Bundle Card

You all KNOW how much I love the Stampin Up bundles and when the new catalog came out, I had to flip through (repeatedly and joyfully) to determine which bundles were on my must have list. The At Home With You Bundle was one of them with the versatility and usefulness of this bundle. The stamped image is a front door that you can decorate for any season, with signs, wreaths, lanterns, flowers, garlands, etc. Almost like building your own dream front door to your own dream house! OR at least that’s what it felt like when I was making this card. The thing I love the most is that there is a die in the framelits set that cuts and scores the door entryway, so your “door” opens on your card. How cute is that? Also, Stampin Up has added these little mini Boxwood Wreaths as embellishments in the new catalog, so how perfectly do they work with this stamp set??? Here is a video tutorial of how to make this project:

So to create this project, I started with Soft Suede cardstock for my card base and then I stamped the door in Chocolate Chip ink on the same cardstock. I stamped the lanterns and the flowers in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White and I colored them in with Stampin Up Markers in Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Blushing Bride. I stamped the Hardwood background image in Soft Sky on Soft Sky cardstock. The welcome mat is in Night of Navy ink on Soft Sky cardstock.  The border above and below the door is from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper stack. After stamping, I die cut out the door, the lanterns, flowers and a welcome mat with my Big Shot and assembly including Linen Thread, Glue Dots and the Boxwood Wreath. I stamped the inside sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink inside the door. A complete product list with product numbers can be found below.

Stampin Up has created a video that highlights the At Home With You bundle as well as shares tips on how to use it. Check it out here:

Shabby Chic Greeting Card

Daisy Delight Bundle Card With Shabby Chic Feel

One of the most popular bundles in the new Annual Catalog is  Daisy Delight. This bundle includes the Daisy Delight photopolymer stamp set and the Daisy Punch. Sadly, they are SO popular that for now, the Dasy Punch is sold out and is on backorder, but I will share here when it is available

for order again. You can still order the Daisy Delight stamp set and cut the daisy image out instead of punching. This project also features two of the newest Designer Series Paper packs, the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack (background of the card) and the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (the floral paper). I punched it with the Banner Triple Punch and added it over the Lace Doilies. The center of the blue daisy is another of the newest additions to the Stampin Up product family, the Gold Faceted Gems. I wish you could see it in person, these embellishments really sparkle. Stampin Up also added Clear Faceted Gems as well. Talk about bling! The sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and I punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch (another new product). For complete product details, look below.

I have to admit, the color palette was a bit darker than what I usually work with. I love blue and brown together and was trying for a rustic feel to the card. How did I do?

Floral Phrases Wedding Card

It’s nearly June and that means WEDDING SEASON! I made this card thinking about wedding season, or engagements or perhaps an elegant congratulations card. I don’t know if you can tell from the photo but it’s an easel card, so the bottom folds down and the centerpiece stands on it to form an easel. Just a little different take on a traditional card or it can also be a gift card holder. The “congratulations” is stamped in Versa Mark and then I heat embossed it with Gold Stamping Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. The ink color, cardstock, and ribbon are one of the newest Stampin’ Up colors to come out starting June 1, called Powder Pink. It’s such a soft and delicate pink, I love it!

It’s also an exciting time for we who love stamping because this Thursday is a brand new catalog! I cannot wait! As a demonstrator, I’ve been able to get a sneak peek of the new catalog and it’s amazing! I can tell you that this set is in our 2016-2017 Annual Catalog and it will be in the new one, but not as a bundle. Bundles, if you haven’t yet gotten sick of me saying this, means you can get the Floral Phrases stamp set and the Detailed Floral die set combined and save 10% off. You have until Thursday to save 10% and I highly recommend this set. The cuts are so intricate and the stamp set perfectly matches. Even better, the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper has an image that perfectly matches the stamp set! The paper will be available on Thursday in the new catalog. If you would like to get this bundle, please email me and I’ll be happy to help. Photos truly don’t do it justice!

RemARKably Creative Blog Tour: Anything NEW!

RemARKably Creative Team Blog Tour

Welcome to the May edition of RemARKably Creative Blog Tour – Anything NEW! I hope you are enjoying each stop along the blog tours that feature projects created with the newest products from Stampin’ Up’s 2017-2018 Annual Catalog that launches June 1. If you have been following along the blog hop, you might have come from Leonie Schroder‘s blog. Wasn’t her project AMAZING? Such talent is a challenge to follow!

Not to get too personal, but it’s been a crazy three weeks, hence the topic of this card. My husband’s car was totaled, my car had a hit and run, my dad’s cancer is back, and then yesterday I visited my sister in the hospital and took my daughter to the ER! Talk about a nutty month! So when I was trying to figure out what to make for this hop, I saw the sentiment and voila! A card was born.

This card is made with the Colorful Seasons bundle. If you want to get a bundle, this is it because it covers all the seasons, spring, summer, fall and winter. You will get a whole year’s worth of cards out of this bundle, I promise! I also used two of the newest Stampin’ Up colors, Fresh Fig and Berry Burst. The card base is Fresh Fig, then a layer of Early Expresso and then Watercolor paper. After painting the paper with an Aqua Painter and water, I squeezed the ink pads of Elegant Eggplant, Fresh Fig and Berry Burst so that ink was on the lid and then dipped my Aqua Painter in the ink and painted sections that I had dampened with each of the colors. Set that aside to dry and die cut the branch out of Early Expresso cardstock and the flowers out of Watercolor paper as well. Once your background is dry, stamp Just Breath in Versamark and heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder. The flowers are colored at the center with Berry Burst and an Aqua Painter and then Basic Pearls are placed in the centers. Embellish with some Gold Metallic Thread and put the card together! A detailed list is below and f you would like to make this card yourself, please email me and I’ll help you as I would love to be your Demonstrator!

The next stop on the blog hop is Annette Sullivan  but if you get lost along the way, here is the complete list of all the talented Demonstrators that are participating:

We Don’t Have to Say Goodbye to Cool Treats!

The 10% Off Bundle Price Ends May 31, But the Cool Treats Stamp Set and Frozen Treats Framelit Dies Available In New Catalog!

The Cool Treats bundle is another one that was a HUGE hit in the 2017 Occasions Catalog and when the retiring list came out, we worried that it would be on that list and not carry over into the new catalog available on June 1. I am pleased to report that the Cool Treats stamp set and the Frozen Treats Framelit Dies that make up the Cool Treats Bundle WILL be available in the new Annual Catalog BUT they won’t be sold as a bundle. What that means is that if you want to order these, you should do it before May 31 so you can save 10% off the bundle price. Click here for details about the Bundle.  Another reason to order now is that the Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper (featured on the bottom half of this card) will no longer be available after May 31 AND it’s on sale for only $7.50 right now! So you get 10% off on the bundle and the paper for 60% off. Sounds like a deal to me!

Other details about this card:

  • The circles are cut with the Layering Circles dies. The chocolate chip die was embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder.
  • I am in love with the Lace Doilies. I could seriously use them in every project! They add a nice accent to just about anything!
  • The ice cream cone is stamped in Watermelon Wonder on Whisper White cardstock. The Cool Treats stamp features a technique called two-step stamping that allows for depth and almost a 3D appearance. To create the look, ink up your stamp with the shape of the ice cream and then stamp the image once on a piece of scrap paper (hence the technique name, stamping off) and then without re-inking your stamp, go ahead and stamp the image as needed. Stamping off gives you a more variety in your ink because you can have a lighter hue or shade of color and create more depth in your images without needing tons of ink colors in complimentary hues. For even more contrast, stamp off twice for and get a much lighter shade and now you have three variations of the same color you can use in projects.
  • Next, you simply ink up the second image, in this case, the swirls of the cone, in the same ink color and stamp as normal. Cut out the cone with the Frozen Treats Framelits dies and embellish with some pearls as sprinkles.
  • The cone is stamped using Crumb Cake ink and cut with the FrozenTreats Framelits as well.
  • The Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper has a wide variety of patterns and colors but one of my favorites is the one featured int his project that is embossed and glossy. Such a nice finish and it adds gloss to this card!

Thinking Of You Retiring Hostess Set – Iconic Occasions

Stampin’ Up is all about fellowship and sharing. Indeed, their motto or Statement the Heart is ” To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments . . . in this we make a difference!” To that end, they offer many ways to share the love of stamping and creating, either through clubs, classes or Stampin’ Up demonstration night parties. Stampin Up loves to reward a hostess who invites her friends over for a night of Stampin’ Up fun, or for hosting an online event by offering certain hostess sets that can only be earned, not purchased. As such, they are pretty special stamp sets. This card features a hostess set from the 2017 Occasions Catalog that will retire on May 31. It’s called Iconic Occasions and here is a photo of the set:

This card is simple yet elegant. Often times, we can get so caught up in making sure we have lots of layers or embellishments and forget that as in fashion, so with cards and less sometimes can be more. Another thing that struck me about this project is the usage of the same sentiment three times. Who says just because you stamped an image once, you are done? Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and you just might surprise yourself while stretching your supplies even further than ever! If you are interested in learning how to qualify to get this set for FREE, please email me at jen@stampastical.com. After May 31, this set is gone forever so don’t wait!

Stamptastical Masculine Card – One Wild Ride

This is a masculine card featuring One Wild Ride, a custom designed stamp set from Stampin’ Up. I recently participated in a card swap where the theme was masculine cards. I have to admit, I struggled. I like pretty, floral, lacey, sparkly, frilly, pastel, girly-girly type projects, so the challenge really got me outside of my comfort zone. I WISH I could say I was the super talented individual who created this card, but I am not. This wonderful piece of creativity was created by Belinda Fairbanks. I do not have her web address or location of city, sadly but if you see this post, Belinda, please let me know so I can give you all the credit you absolutely deserve! She is so amazing that she included a list of supplies used to make this card, which I have listed below.

What struck me about this card is that yes, it’s masculine, but it still has some bling and I loved the color combination. The stamp set was actually designed by and created for a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator who reached $1 million in sales! If you flip through the Stampin’ Up catalog, sometimes you will see a little $1 million sales icon next to certain stamp sets, and they are the ones that an actual Demonstrator helped to design. One Wild Ride is one, Bella & Friends is another one and in the new catalog available starting June 1, there is a gorgeous breast cancer awareness stamp set designed by a Demonstrator who wanted to honor her mother.  I just thought that was a nice touch and a wonderful way to celebrate and commemorate a Demonstrator’s hard work!

To create this project, it appears that the talented Belinda Fairbanks stamped the motorcycle image in Versa Mark on Very Vanilla cardstock and then heat embossed with Gold Stampin Up Embossing Powder. To create the badge, she used a technique called masking. She stamped the badge text in Basic Black on Very Vanilla and then she separately stamped the word Journey from the same stamp in Versa Mark and heat embossed it in gold as well. She cut the word Journey out and mounted it on the badge. What a clever idea to jazz up the sentiment! She also sponged the Very Vanilla cardstock in Sahara Sand ink around the edges to give it an aged look. Simple yet stunning!

Retiring Set: Succulent Mother’s Day Card

The So Succulent suite used to make this card is retiring as of May 31, which means it won’t be available after that date as Stampin’ Up prepares to launch the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. While we are sad to see this suite go, I can promise you exciting new products are coming soon and are worth the sacrifice! Last week I shared a So Succulent Mother’s Day card and this is another Mother’s Day card made with the same suite. I wanted to share it to show that you don’t have to have a ton of stamps, or die sets, or Designer Series Paper in order to make a bunch of different projects. With a little creativity, you can make unlimited projects with just one set!

As we get closer to May 31, some of products are selling out or are only available while supplies last. If there is something that you would love to order but  you aren’t sure if it’s available, please don’t hesitate to give me a call or email me and I”ll be happy to look it up and let you know. That’s what I’m here for and it’s my honor to be your Demonstrator.  Click here to get a list of all of the retiring products in the 2017 Occasions Catalog and the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog. Stampin’ Up will keep producing and guaranteeing stamps sets until May 22, and from May 22 – 31, it’s while supplies last. For paper, embellishments, etc. it’s while supplies last. On the bright side, many of the products featured in the current catalogs are on sale up to 60% off! It’s a great time to shop and an exciting time as we finish one catalog and gear up for a new catalog filled with exciting new products! As a Demonstrator, you are able to get a sneak peek of the new catalogs and pre-order products before they are available to the public, which is one of the many perks! If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Demonstrator, please contact me and I’ll be happy to answer all your questions!

Stamptastical Cool Treats & Celebrations Card

This is a project I made for a swap I did last month and it features the Cool Treats stamp set and the Celebrations Duo Textured Embossing Folders. It’s a simple looking card but actually, has two different stamping techniques involved.  I am not sure if you can tell from the photo, the word “Celebrate” on the card is debossed, not embossed. What that means is that typically when you emboss, you are pushing the paper up, almost like a braille or raised texture that you can feel. When you deboss, you push the paper in. To make this card, I actually ran the  Whisper White cardstock through the Big Shot using the Celebrations Duo Textured Embossing Folders and then I had a card front where the word Celebrate was pushed in. If I flipped the cardstock over, it would be backward but the text would be raised. After that, it was a matter of stamping the images and adding embellishments. What is nifty about this technique is that you can still stamp over the embossing and you get a resist effect as the ink won’t appear where you’ve embossed.

I also played a  bit with one of the brand new In Colors called Lemon Lime Twist. I must admit, that color is growing on me. I wasn’t too crazy about it at first and thought it was just some neon yellow-green but it’s really more a spring green in my opinion. It works great with several colors and I’m rapidly becoming a fan. The other colors I used were Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry for the popsicles and Tip Top Taupe for the handles. To get the different shades the popsicles, I stamped off on a piece of scratch paper and stamped the shape of the popsicles and then for the stripes or lines, I straight stamped. It’s a great technique to get variations of a shade of ink and to stretch your supplies and the second stamping technique featured in this project. Some Bermuda Bay ribbon and Metallic Sequins to embellish and a card is born….or created?! I hope you like it regardless!
