We Don’t Have to Say Goodbye to Cool Treats!

The 10% Off Bundle Price Ends May 31, But the Cool Treats Stamp Set and Frozen Treats Framelit Dies Available In New Catalog!

The Cool Treats bundle is another one that was a HUGE hit in the 2017 Occasions Catalog and when the retiring list came out, we worried that it would be on that list and not carry over into the new catalog available on June 1. I am pleased to report that the Cool Treats stamp set and the Frozen Treats Framelit Dies that make up the Cool Treats Bundle WILL be available in the new Annual Catalog BUT they won’t be sold as a bundle. What that means is that if you want to order these, you should do it before May 31 so you can save 10% off the bundle price. Click here for details about the Bundle.  Another reason to order now is that the Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper (featured on the bottom half of this card) will no longer be available after May 31 AND it’s on sale for only $7.50 right now! So you get 10% off on the bundle and the paper for 60% off. Sounds like a deal to me!

Other details about this card:

  • The circles are cut with the Layering Circles dies. The chocolate chip die was embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder.
  • I am in love with the Lace Doilies. I could seriously use them in every project! They add a nice accent to just about anything!
  • The ice cream cone is stamped in Watermelon Wonder on Whisper White cardstock. The Cool Treats stamp features a technique called two-step stamping that allows for depth and almost a 3D appearance. To create the look, ink up your stamp with the shape of the ice cream and then stamp the image once on a piece of scrap paper (hence the technique name, stamping off) and then without re-inking your stamp, go ahead and stamp the image as needed. Stamping off gives you a more variety in your ink because you can have a lighter hue or shade of color and create more depth in your images without needing tons of ink colors in complimentary hues. For even more contrast, stamp off twice for and get a much lighter shade and now you have three variations of the same color you can use in projects.
  • Next, you simply ink up the second image, in this case, the swirls of the cone, in the same ink color and stamp as normal. Cut out the cone with the Frozen Treats Framelits dies and embellish with some pearls as sprinkles.
  • The cone is stamped using Crumb Cake ink and cut with the FrozenTreats Framelits as well.
  • The Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper has a wide variety of patterns and colors but one of my favorites is the one featured int his project that is embossed and glossy. Such a nice finish and it adds gloss to this card!

Thinking Of You Retiring Hostess Set – Iconic Occasions

Stampin’ Up is all about fellowship and sharing. Indeed, their motto or Statement the Heart is ” To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments . . . in this we make a difference!” To that end, they offer many ways to share the love of stamping and creating, either through clubs, classes or Stampin’ Up demonstration night parties. Stampin Up loves to reward a hostess who invites her friends over for a night of Stampin’ Up fun, or for hosting an online event by offering certain hostess sets that can only be earned, not purchased. As such, they are pretty special stamp sets. This card features a hostess set from the 2017 Occasions Catalog that will retire on May 31. It’s called Iconic Occasions and here is a photo of the set:

This card is simple yet elegant. Often times, we can get so caught up in making sure we have lots of layers or embellishments and forget that as in fashion, so with cards and less sometimes can be more. Another thing that struck me about this project is the usage of the same sentiment three times. Who says just because you stamped an image once, you are done? Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and you just might surprise yourself while stretching your supplies even further than ever! If you are interested in learning how to qualify to get this set for FREE, please email me at jen@stampastical.com. After May 31, this set is gone forever so don’t wait!

Retiring Bundle: Oh So Succulent Mother’s Day Card

When this bundle came out in the 2017 Occasions Catalog, we all went NUTS! We loved it sooo much and I was surprised to hear that after May 31, this bundle is gone forever. I think many of us were hoping it would be in the new catalog, but alas, there is only so much room for amazing products and this one has to go to make room for all the gorgeous new items. I will be showcasing exclusive sneak peeks of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog products available on June 1 next week, so stay tuned! In the meantime, if you love this bundle which includes the Oh So Succulent 30 piece photopolymer stamp set and the Succulent 17 piece framelits,  you can get them on SALE! Typically when a product line is in a bundle, you can buy two products together and save 10% off. BUT, since these products are retiring, I’d suggest you purchase them separately and save even more. The Oh So Succulent bundle is $48.50 right now, but if you buy the Oh So Succulent stamp set at $15.75 (marked down from $21) and the Succulent framelits at $16.50 (marked down from $33),  you can get them both for $32.25 and save $16.25!

This card features the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper which is also on clearance for $6.60 (marked down from $11) so when you order the stamps and the dies, you can get the paper and STILL save money off the original price! A full list of products used is listed below. I love this bundle because not only can you stamp gorgeous flowers and then quickly and easily cut them out, BUT it also includes flower patterns to make actual 3D flowers as well. So for this project, I went nuts and did both! I embossed the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock with the Sparkle Texture Embossing Folder and then embellished with Lace Doily and some Clear Wink of Stella to give it some sparkle. I wanted to make a Mother’s Day card for my AMAZING mother and once I got started, I couldn’t stop. If I turn out to be 1/100th as amazing a mother and woman as she, it will be a miracle and a life well lived!

Mediterranean Moments Card

This a thank you card featuring the Mediterranean Moments stamp set in the 2017 Occasions Catalog. This stamp set didn’t immediately catch my eye, but after looking at it for a few moments and seeing the true beauty of the images and imagining the myriad of ways those images could be used, it had become a favorite. This card is super quick and easy to put together and has bling and watercoloring, two of my favorite things to use in a project, so for me, this card has it ALL! While we are all anxiously awaiting the new catalog and wondering if we should even purchase a stamp set for fear it won’t be available again, I can tell you that the Mediterranean Moments stamp set is NOT retiring. Woohoo! That means at least another year of enjoying the beautiful images! Check out what is included below:

Aren’t these just perfect to color in using Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens or an Aqua Painter and your favorite inks? You can almost imagine yourself there, sitting at a sidewalk cafe, or walking the streets of a Mediterranean town. I look at these and immediately think, “Vacation!”

I did want to let you know that while this stamp set is not on the Retiring List, many products are and while they are on sale, they are also selling out QUICKLY! If you have a favorite that you’ve been waiting to purchase on sale, don’t wait. We sold out of some items in less than 24 hours and those items will not re-ordered, meaning when they are sold out and gone, they are gone forever. I don’t want to pressure you but I also don’t want you to be surprised that a certain item was not longer available. That’s the tough part of a new catalog process. As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I was able to get a sneak peek at the brand new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog including the new ink and paper colors and I can tell you that it’s going to be worth it. They have some stamp sets in there that are so clever! And the die cuts, I cannot wait to use them, they are so on trend. All new paper and ribbon options and brand new colors to play with. The new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog will be available for order starting June 2 and you can view it online at that time as well. However, if you would like to have a hard copy mailed to you, please email me and let me know and I”ll drop one in the mail for you as soon as they are available! Stay tuned here as well because I will be sharing products and projects from the new catalog starting May 1 as we say goodbye to old favorites and look forward to making new ones!

Basket Bunch Easter Card – Exciting News Announced Later Today!

Here is another adorable Easter card made with the Basket Bunch bundle found in the 2017 Occasions Catalog. If you have ever been on Pinterest, be sure to look for this bundle and you will be amazed by all of the gorgeous projects that you can make with the Basket Bunch stamp set and Basket Builder die set that you can combine into a bundle and save 10% off the purchase price. I used the gingham paper from the Oh So Succulent Designer Series paper and played with my Soft Subtles Stampin’ Write Markers to color in the bunny and color in the words from a sentiment stamp so that I could just stamp For Somebunny Sweet. It’s a great technique to get more out of your stamps!

An Exciting Announcement

Today is a HUGE day in Stampin’ Up! world because we are wrapping up the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog and the 2017 Occasions Catalog. Both retire on May 31 and a new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog will available very soon as well as brand spankin’ new 2017-2019 In Colors. If you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, this is a very exciting time as we dream of what new colors and products will be available. To make room for new products, sadly we have to say goodbye to current products, which means that we will get a list of what products will no longer be available after May 31. As soon as I get that list, I will post it here, so check back later today or visit my Facebook page to get the list. Why this matters is that if you are considering ordering from the Occasions Catalog or the Annual Catalog, you will need to check the retirement list to see if that item will be available after May 31. If it is, great, you have a little more time to order or re-order, depending on what that item is. If your favorite item is on the retirement list, I would urge you to order quickly because often items on the retirement list are only available while supplies last and I would hate for you to be unable to get a certain item due to it selling out. I’ve been there and it’s no fun at all!   I will also be posting a link to the new catalog as soon as I am able so you can start your new shopping list of gorgeous products!

Video: Cupcake & Carousel Pop and Twist Card

Watch Video Preview of Cupcake & Carousel Suite Pop and Twist Card

Pop and twist cards are all the rage in Stampin’ Up so I thought I’d give it a try  with the Cupcakes & Carousels Suite and  I was so excited about the result that I had to make a video and share!  This isn’t a “quick” card but it’s so worth the effort. The stamped images, the Designer Series Paper, the ribbon and the embellishments all come from the Cupcakes & Carousels Suite in the 2017 Occasions Catalog. I love, love, love this suite and there are so many ways you can use these products. As an added bonus, the Up & Away thinlets dies that typically go with the Lift Me Up bundle in the same catalog work perfectly to cut out the cupcaStamptastical Pop and Twist card inside viewkes from the Carousel Birthday stamp set. Isn’t that clever? And don’t forget, if you order $50 worth of product by March 31st, you qualify for a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog! Scroll down a bit to see a quick video of this card in action!

Remarkable Blog Hop – Spring or Easter

Welcome to the Remarkable Blog Hop – Can’t Live Withouts!  If you have just come from Libby’s blog, wasn’t her project amazing??? Tough act to follow, to be sure! One of the Easter stamp sets in the 2017 Occasions catalog that I fell in love with was Easter Message and that is the stamp set I  used for this project, along with paper from the So In Love bundle. I stamped the greeting and the cross im age in Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I was trying to combine regency (gold, pearls) with simplicity (ribbon, clean design). The cross is actually on vellum paper, in case you can’t tell and the floral patter is the designer series paper showing through. Inside I stamped the sentiment that is in the same stamp set:

Next on the Remarkable Blog Hop is Naurelle Fasulo and be prepared for a treat because her work is stunning! In case you got lost or there is a glitch somewhere, here is a list of all the “stops” on this blog hop:
